I think we need to remove the subjective element in gymnastics. What if all the gymnasts square off head-to-head on each event in a single elimination tournament? On the balance beam, for example, two gymnasts could perform their respective routines on the same apparatus simultaneously–the first one to fall off loses. Same idea with the parallel bars. -Raf
